DOW-UAP-D018, Mission Report, Iraq, December 2022
This file is a standardized U.S. Military Mission Report (MISREP) covering an intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) mission flown under Operation Inherent Resolve on 1–2 December 2022. According to the report, an aircraft took off from OKAS at 011206Z DEC22 and conducted SIGINT collection and target-development scans in the vicinity of Baghdad, Iraq. At 1620Z the operator observed '1x possible UAP/UAV flying west to east' near grid 38SMB4-83; the observer did not follow the object and continued the tasked mission with no further events reported. The report records a single UAP sighted, no signatures detected, and no reported effects on persons. The document was declassified by MG Richard A. Harrison, USCENTCOM Chief of Staff, on 8 October 2025 and approved for release to AARO, with numerous redactions under FOIA and classification exemptions. The releasing agency notes that all descriptive and estimative language reflects the reporter's subjective interpretation at the time and should not be read as conclusive as to any object's features or performance.
